WEEK 3 OF OUR MENOPAUSE SERIES

Menopause vs. Postmenopause: What’s the Difference?

Many people use these terms interchangeably, but they’re not the same.

Menopause is a single point in time. It is officially diagnosed after you’ve gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period.

Postmenopause is the stage that begins after menopause and continues for the rest of your life.

While hot flashes and night sweats may improve over time, your focus should shift toward protecting your long-term health.

During postmenopause, it’s more important than ever to:

✔ Build and maintain muscle✔ Protect bone density✔ Support heart health✔ Improve balance and mobility✔ Eat enough protein and fiber✔ Stay physically active

The great news? It is never too late to get stronger.

Strength training, smart nutrition, and regular exercise can help you feel healthier, move better, and maintain your independence for years to come.

At Body Blast Fitness Studio in Taunton, MA, we specialize in helping women build strength in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. Whether you’re in perimenopause, menopause, or postmenopause, we’re here to help you every step of the way.
